RCA Records announces the September 24 release of the new Kings of Leon record, Mechanical Bull. Angelo Petraglia produced the album, which was recorded at the band s studio in Nashville, TN.

Kings of Leon are fresh off three acclaimed headlining performances at American festivals, Bottle Rock in Napa, CA, Hangout in Gulf Shores, AL, and, most recently, this past weekend’s Governor’s Ball in New York City, during which the festival cancelled the band’s Friday night performance due to Tropical Storm Andrea. The band, upset over the cancellation, worked through the night with festival organizers and management to figure out a way to come back on Saturday. The festival found a place for them on the main stage right before the Saturday headliner, during which the fans were treated to the live premiere of Mechanical Bull’s first single, “Supersoaker.”

They Did It Again. . . As if I expected them to do anything other than create a great album. I purchased this a day after it released and couldn’t listen to it til the next day and when I did, that feeling I get when I listen to Caleb’s voice, happened all over again.SUPERSOAKER is fun and a great way to open the album. It sounds fantastic and looks good. The Kings came back with some quality songs that seem to show the growing up they have done since we last heard from them. More mature songs with deeper content and more thought invested. It’s a little slower and more melodic than some of their previous offerings but I enjoy the change of pace. It’s a great…

I must admit that I am a Johnny – Come – Lately as far as Kings of Leon are concern. But of the last three albums that I have purchased from this band, this is definitely my favorite. Every song is full of great guitar grooves mixed with a Southern flavor in the vein of Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Caleb vocals pulls it all together. True KOL fans may find this album too commercial, but it is great music by a group who is at the top of their game. This cd is ideal for folks who like…
